An optional configuration allows an API Admin user to manage which IP addresses may be used for the CounselLink® API.
A CounselLink User Admin must assign the Corporate role of API Admin to the appropriate user(s). Those users must be signed in to an API-enabled client with a legitimate API key to access these features.
Access the API Administration Page
- Select the Corporate Profile from the CounselLink header.
- Click the API link in the Corporate Administration section of the QuickLinks panel.
The API Administration page displays.
Adding an IP Address or IP Range
- From the API Administration page, click the +Add IP Address / Range button.
The Add Allowed IP Address(es)/Range(s) screen displays.
- In the Add IP Address or IP Range field, enter a single IP or CIDR Block as applicable.
- Click Save to add the IP Address / Range.
The API Administration screen updates to display the active IP address(es).
Managing IP Addresses
- From the API Administration page, select the check box to the left of the appropriate IP Address / Range to modify. Buttons activate above the grid to indicate available actions.
- Perform an action:

Click the Activate button. The selected IP Address(es) / Range(s) is active.

Click the Inactivate button. The selected IP Address(es) / Range(s) is inactive.

Click the Delete button.
The Confirm Delete screen displays.
Click Yes to confirm the deletion. The IP Address(es) / Range(s) are deleted.
